If I had one day to convince you to visit Gdańsk, If I had one day to convince you to visit Gdańsk, this is how I’d spend it 🇵🇱✨
Not rushing from attraction to attraction. Not trying to tick off 15 places before lunch.
I’d start with a slow wander through Gdańsk Old Town, taking in those colourful façades and little side streets that somehow make you stop every few minutes for another photo.
Then I’d find a viewpoint and see the city from above before walking down towards the waterfront and the famous medieval Crane.
Somewhere along the way there would absolutely be Polish food, coffee and probably a little amber shopping — because Gdańsk is known as the world capital of amber.
And when the day starts slowing down? Back to the river.
That’s probably my favourite thing about Gdańsk. You can come with a list of things to do, but some of the best moments happen while you’re simply wandering between them.

How much does 4 days in Lisbon actually cost? 🇵🇹💰 How much does 4 days in Lisbon actually cost? 🇵🇹💰
Here’s exactly what I paid for my Lisbon city break from Manchester — because I always find real travel budgets much more useful than someone simply telling me a destination is “cheap”.

There were 3 of us travelling, which helped us save quite a bit by splitting our apartment and Uber costs.

Our costs per person:

✈️ Return flights from Manchester — £140
🏠 Apartment — £217
⛵ Boat trip — £21
🥧 Pastel de Nata baking class — £48
🚕 Ubers — approx. £18
💰 TOTAL: £444 per person

That covered our flights, accommodation, local transport and two paid experiences for our 4 days in Lisbon.
The one thing I haven’t included is food and drinks because your spending here can be completely different depending on how you travel.

Lisbon can still be very affordable if you eat at local cafés, bakeries and traditional restaurants, but dinners, cocktails and more touristy places can quickly push the budget up.

Personally, I think £444 before food for a 4-day European city break with activities included was pretty good!

What do you think — £444: bargain or expensive? 👀

4 days in Lisbon 🇵🇹 — but how much did it actually 4 days in Lisbon 🇵🇹 — but how much did it actually cost?
I recently spent 4 days in Lisbon travelling from Manchester, and there were 3 of us on the trip, which definitely helped when it came to splitting the cost of accommodation and Ubers.
Here’s what I spent per person:

✈️ Return flights from Manchester — £140
🏡 Apartment — £217
⛵ Boat trip — £21
🥧 Pastel de Nata baking class — £48
🚕 Ubers — approx. £18

💰 TOTAL: £444 per person

That includes our flights, accommodation, two activities and local transport for the trip.

I haven’t included food and drinks because this is where your Lisbon budget can vary A LOT. You can eat very affordably if you stick to local cafés, bakeries and traditional restaurants, but your spending can quickly increase depending on where you eat and how much alcohol you drink.

For me, £444 before food for 4 days in Lisbon felt pretty reasonable — especially considering we included a boat trip and a Pastel de Nata baking class rather than just sightseeing.

And honestly, Lisbon is one of those cities where you don’t have to spend a fortune to have a brilliant few days. 🇵🇹✨

Instead of just eating pastéis de nata all over Lisbon — although I definitely recommend doing that too 😂 — why not learn how to make them?

We booked a pastel de nata baking class in Lisbon and it was such a fun way to spend a few hours together. You get involved, learn how Portugal’s most famous little custard tart is made and, most importantly, eat what you’ve made afterwards.

I love adding experiences like this to a city break because you come home with an actual memory rather than just another photo on your camera roll.

If you want to eat traditional Polish food in Gdańsk without spending a fortune, add Bar Turystyczny to your list.

This little piece of old-school Gdańsk has been around since 1956 and serves the kind of simple, homemade Polish food I grew up with — soups, pierogi, kotlet schabowy, gołąbki and plenty more.

🥟 Traditional Polish food
💰 Budget-friendly prices
📍 Szeroka 8/10, Gdańsk
🏛️ Right in central Gdańsk
🕰️ Open daily 8am–6pm*

It’s not about fancy interiors or Instagrammable plates. You come here for proper, comforting Polish food at prices that are becoming harder and harder to find in touristy city centres.

And for me, places like this are part of experiencing Poland properly. 🇵🇱

Would you try a Polish milk bar on your trip?

*Always check current opening hours before visiting.

A Gdańsk stay that didn’t blow the city-break budg A Gdańsk stay that didn’t blow the city-break budget 🇵🇱✨

When I was planning our trip to Gdańsk, I wanted to find somewhere that was affordable without sacrificing location — because there’s nothing worse than saving £20 on a hotel and then spending half your trip travelling into the centre.

We ended up staying at MILESTONE by Tribera Gdańsk Center and it turned out to be such a good base for exploring the city.

📍 Close to Gdańsk’s famous shipyard
🚶‍♀️ Central Gdańsk is within walking distance
🚆 Convenient for the main train station
🛏️ Modern, simple rooms
🎬 Plus shared facilities including a gym, cinema and games room

It’s not a luxury hotel — and I wouldn’t book it expecting that — but if your priority is location, comfort and keeping the cost of a Gdańsk city break down, this is definitely one to have on your radar.

I always think I’d rather save a little on accommodation and have more money left for good food, coffee and actually experiencing the city. ☕️🥟

I think I had Marbella slightly wrong. 🇪🇸 Before v I think I had Marbella slightly wrong. 🇪🇸
Before visiting, it’s easy to picture beach clubs, expensive restaurants and the glamorous side of the Costa del Sol.
And yes, you’ll find plenty of that.
But the Marbella I loved was a little different.
Whitewashed streets covered in flowers, tiny squares hidden around the Old Town, long lunches, colourful corners and those slow walks where you don’t really have a destination.
It’s one of those places where I’d recommend putting Google Maps away for an hour and simply wandering.
And then, of course, finishing the day somewhere near the sea. 🌊
If Marbella is on your Spain list, save this for later.
Have you been? And did Marbella surprise you too?

Before you go, make sure you add these experiences to your itinerary.

✨ Wander through Long Market before the crowds arrive.
✨ Climb St Mary’s Church for one of the best views in the city.
✨ Explore Mariacka Street, famous for its amber shops and charming cafés.
✨ Try traditional Polish food, including pierogi and fresh Baltic fish.
✨ Walk along the Motława River at sunset.
✨ Take a river cruise or boat trip.
✨ If you have an extra day, catch the train to nearby Sopot.

Gdańsk is one of my favourite city breaks in Poland because it perfectly combines colourful architecture, fascinating history and a relaxed waterfront atmosphere.

One skincare product that’s become part of my ever One skincare product that’s become part of my everyday routine? A good SPF.
I’ve been testing the Olay Regenerist SPF50+ and I genuinely love how lightweight it feels. It disappears into my skin without leaving a white cast, doesn’t feel greasy or sticky, and sits beautifully under makeup.
What really stood out is that it’s more than just sun protection. It’s powered by peptides and combines SPF50+ protection with skincare benefits, helping skin feel firmer, plumper and hydrated throughout the day.
Whether I’m exploring a new city, heading out for brunch or simply running errands, daily SPF is one product I won’t skip.

Do you wear SPF every day, even when it’s cloudy? ☁️👇
