Sintra day trip

“In the 19th century Sintra became the first centre of European Romantic architecture. Ferdinand II turned a ruined monastery into a castle where this new sensitivity was displayed in the use of Gothic, Egyptian, Moorish and Renaissance elements and in the creation of a park blending local and exotic species of trees.

Food in Alicante

Food in Alicante is delicious. Every single place that I have visited had good selection and all dishes were tasty. I love tapas and if you do too, you will find Alicante a perfect place for it. I have to admit that I was a bit disappointed about the prices as I found it a lot more expensive than other spanish cities I have visited, for example Seville, but I guess with prices of everything going up, it makes sense. In total, in 4 days, I spent short of 170€ eating out, having breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks out. Is it a lot? Probably yes, but I haven’t really looked for a low cost places, but for places that serve good food, places that were recommended by locals. I did find one extra cheap tapas bar, but I will tell you more about below.

2 weeks in Portugal

Portugal is one of my favourite countries. People are friendly, food is delicious, prices are still relatively low compared to other European destinations. Weather in Portugal is beautiful, especially visiting in the summer, but autumn months can be generous too. I am going to share a plan for 2 weeks in Portugal and I hope this will help you organise your trip and roughly estimate how much it’s going to cost. In future posts I will go more into detail of how long to spend at each place, what to see and where to stay.
