During my recent travels through India, I stayed at Radisson Blu Plaza Delhi Airport for a short stopover in New Delhi. As many travellers know, airport hotels are usually chosen for convenience rather than experience. However, this hotel offers more than just a bed for the night.
In this review, I will share my honest thoughts based on my stay, including the gym, swimming pool, breakfast, dinner, room comfort, cleanliness, service, pricing, and overall experience. I will also mention a few areas where I believe improvements could be made.
Here you can book Radisson Blu Plaza New Delhi airport hotel. <—
Location – Perfect for a Stopover, Not for Exploring
One of the strongest points of this hotel is its location near Indira Gandhi International Airport. If you are arriving late at night, departing early in the morning, or simply need a place to rest between flights, the location is excellent.
The transfer time from the airport is very short, which makes the stay smooth and stress-free. After a long flight, this is exactly what you want.
However, if your goal is to explore central New Delhi, this may not be the ideal base. The hotel is quite far from the main attractions, and there is not much to see or do within walking distance. Apart from a few nearby hotels and small commercial areas, most of what you need is inside the hotel itself.
For a one-night stopover: perfect.
For sightseeing in Delhi: less convenient.
First Impressions & Check-In

The lobby is elegant and welcoming. Staff members greet you warmly and are attentive from the moment you arrive. The overall feeling is professional and organised.
My check-in process was mostly seamless. However, there were minor issues related to room key cards and two separate bookings under my name. It took a little time to resolve, but the staff handled the situation politely and efficiently. It did not create major inconvenience, but it is worth mentioning.
Overall, the assistance throughout my stay was very good. Staff members were friendly, helpful, and professional.
The Room – Spacious but Not Perfect (3.5/5)
It is worth mentioning, that the room I occupied was a Junior Suite with happy hour and airport transfer included in the price, as well as breakfast and evening meal. It cost me around £250 per room, per night. The second room that we had was also Junior Suite, which was upgraded to a Deluxe Suite and included a living room space as well as additional toilet. My father in law was ill and needed a wheel chair, which we didn’t have, but the hotel allowed us to use theirs for the whole stay and keep it in the room in case they needed it.
The room was spacious, which I appreciated. After travelling, it is always nice to have enough space to move around comfortably rather than feeling cramped.
The design is modern and practical, with everything you need for a short stay. The bed itself was comfortable, but I noticed that all the pillows seemed to be the same type – I have ordered some from the pillow menu and I could tell no difference between the pillows that were already in bed and pillows that were delivered.
Cleanliness inside the room was good. The bathroom was clean, and surfaces were well maintained and I had everything I needed including bath salt, which I think was a very nice touch.
However, one downside was the carpet in the corridor leading to the room. There were visible stains, which slightly reduced the overall impression. While this does not affect hygiene directly, it does impact how luxurious the hotel feels.
Another small issue: there were no sockets near the large mirror. This can be inconvenient, especially if you need to use a hairdryer, straighteners, or grooming tools while looking in the mirror.
Wi-Fi worked well during my stay, and I did not experience any connectivity issues.
The hotel provides complimentary unlimited filtered bottled water in the room, which is appreciated but It is a shame that Radisson is not providing bottled water same as other luxurious 5 stars hotels that I have visited during my trip to India. Pricing for additional water and certain items can feel high.

Cleanliness
Inside the room and public areas, the hotel was clean and well maintained. Housekeeping did a good job, and everything felt hygienic.
As mentioned earlier, the only negative point related to cleanliness was the stained carpet in the hallway. It does not reflect the quality of the rooms themselves, but it is something that could be improved.
Gym – 5/5
The gym is excellent.
For an airport hotel, I was impressed by the size and quality of the fitness centre. It is well equipped with cardio machines, weight machines, and free weights. Everything was clean and in good working condition.
If you like to maintain your routine while travelling, you will not be disappointed. The space feels professional rather than basic and the gym assistant is available to help.
Gym rating: 5/5
Swimming Pool – 5/5 (But Could Be Heated)
The swimming pool area is beautiful and relaxing. It feels like a small oasis away from the busy airport surroundings.
The pool itself is large, clean, and well maintained. There was good assistance from staff in the area, and everything felt organised.
My only suggestion would be to heat the pool. Depending on the season, the water can feel quite cold. A heated pool would improve the experience significantly and make it usable year-round.
Swimming pool rating: 5/5

Spa – Missing Price Transparency
The hotel offers a spa with an extensive menu of treatments. However, I noticed that prices were not clearly listed on the spa menu.
For many travellers, knowing the price in advance is important before deciding to book a treatment. Transparency would make the experience feel more comfortable and straightforward. In order to find out how much the treatments cost I had to go downstairs to the spa and take photos of the menu with prices from the screen. The prices were rather high and same as prices back in the UK.
The facilities themselves appear good, but clearer pricing would improve the overall impression.
Breakfast – 4.5/5
Breakfast was one of the highlights of my stay. I love having breakfasts in India, as anything and everything can be made for you by chefs!
There was a wide choice of dishes, including both Indian and international options. Whether you prefer something light like fruit and yoghurt or something more filling, you will find suitable choices.
The service during breakfast was attentive and welcoming. Staff members were quick to assist and kept the buffet well stocked.
The quality of the food was very good, although not absolutely perfect, because on a few occasions I had to wait a very long time for a coffee, which is why I rate it 4.5/5 rather than 5.
Breakfast rating: 4.5/5
Coffee Time
The hotel café is a pleasant place to sit and relax, especially if you have time between flights or meetings. The atmosphere is calm, and service is good.
However, drink prices are on the expensive side. This applies not only to coffee but also to other beverages throughout the hotel.
While this is common in airport hotels, it is still noticeable.
Dinner – 4.5/5
Dinner was another strong point.
There is a good choice of restaurants and dining options within the hotel. In fact, I would rate the choice of restaurants and cafés 5/5. You do not need to leave the hotel to find variety.
The food quality at dinner was high, and presentation was good. Service was attentive and professional.
However, once again, drink prices were quite high. This slightly reduces the overall experience, even though the food itself was excellent.
Dinner rating: 4.5/5
Restaurant variety rating: 5/5

In-Room Dining
In-room dining is available and convenient, especially for late arrivals. The menu offers a reasonable selection.
Service was efficient, and food arrived on time. Pricing is similar to restaurant dining within the hotel — on the higher side.
Water & Pricing
Filtered bottled water is provided in the room, which is a positive detail.
However, additional bottles and drinks are expensive. The pricing for beverages in general — whether at dinner, in the café, or through room service — feels high.
This is something to consider if you plan to spend a full day at the hotel using its facilities.
Complimentary Evening Drink – A Nice Surprise
Another pleasant surprise was the complimentary warm beverage option.
In the room, there was a card inviting guests to choose a complimentary drink to “warm your soul and enhance your siesta”. The options were:
- Hot chocolate
- Turmeric latte (a comforting take on traditional haldi milk)
To order, you simply dial in-room dining from the room phone.
This is a charming and thoughtful addition, especially for a short transit stay. After a long journey, a warm drink delivered to your room feels comforting and personal. It adds a sense of hospitality that goes beyond basic service.
It is small details like this that help create a more welcoming atmosphere.
Minibar & In-Room Drink Prices
While the complimentary drink was a lovely gesture, the minibar pricing is something travellers should be aware of.
The minibar menu clearly lists prices in INR. For example:
- International beer – 655 INR
- Domestic beer – 545 INR
- Domestic wine – 1865 INR
- Red Bull – 1535 INR
- Aerated drinks – 215 INR
- Still water – 325 INR
- Sparkling water – 303 INR
- Chocolate mini – 660 INR
- Premium coffee – 495 INR
- Premium tea – 605 INR
As expected for an airport hotel, prices are on the higher side. However, some items — especially energy drinks, wine, and snacks — feel particularly expensive.
The pricing of drinks throughout the hotel (minibar, café, restaurants) is one of the few areas where I felt costs were noticeably high.
That said, the minibar is well stocked and offers a good variety of options, including tea, coffee, snacks, nuts, and local treats.

Service & Assistance
One of the strongest aspects of this hotel is the service.
Staff are welcoming, polite, and professional. From reception to restaurant staff and pool attendants, the assistance was consistently very good.
Even when there were small issues (such as the key card or booking confusion), they handled them calmly and effectively.
The overall feeling is that the hotel values customer experience.
Wi-Fi
Wi-Fi worked well during my stay. The connection was stable and fast enough for general browsing, emails, and streaming.
For business travellers, this is an important factor, and the hotel performs well in this area.

- Strong breakfast and dinner (4.5/5)
- Very good service

Final Verdict
If you are travelling through New Delhi and need a comfortable, reliable, and well-equipped airport hotel, Radisson Blu Plaza Delhi Airport is a strong choice.
It offers much more than basic accommodation. The gym and pool facilities are excellent, dining options are varied and high quality, and service is consistently good.
It is ideal for:
- One-night airport stopovers
- Business travellers
- Short transit stays
It is less ideal for:
- Travellers wanting to explore central Delhi extensively
Overall rating (based on my stay): 4.2/5
Would I stay again? Yes — especially for a short airport stopover.
For me, this hotel represents comfort, convenience, and solid service, with just a few areas that could be improved to make it truly outstanding.
