Things to do in Lanzarote that deserve a spot on y Things to do in Lanzarote that deserve a spot on your itinerary 🌵☀️
When most people think of Lanzarote, they picture beaches and volcanoes... but there’s so much more waiting to be discovered.
Start your day wandering around Charco de San Ginés, one of my favourite spots on the island. The colourful fishing boats, cafés and relaxed atmosphere make it the perfect place for breakfast or a morning coffee.
If you’re visiting on a Saturday, don’t miss the Arrecife Saturday Market, where you can browse local crafts, souvenirs and food while experiencing everyday island life.
For something different, head to the Aquarium Lanzarote, especially if you’re travelling with children or looking for an indoor activity on a windy day.
One place that completely surprised me was the Jardín de Cactus. Designed by César Manrique, it’s home to thousands of cacti from around the world and is one of the island’s most unique attractions. Visit in the morning if you can—it gets very hot later in the day.
Need somewhere to cool off? The Piscina Natural del Pichón is a beautiful natural swimming pool with crystal-clear water, perfect for a peaceful swim away from the crowds.
Take a few minutes to admire the beautiful Parroquia de San Ginés, explore the nearby streets, then treat yourself to a refreshing drink by the waterfront.
Of course, no trip would be complete without relaxing on the beaches. Playa Blanca offers calm turquoise water and a laid-back atmosphere, while Puerto del Carmen is perfect if you’re looking for a lively promenade, restaurants and plenty of places to stop for food or cocktails.
Before you leave Arrecife, don’t forget to walk across to Islote del Francés. It’s a lovely little escape with fantastic coastal views and a peaceful atmosphere.
Lanzarote really is one of those destinations that keeps surprising you the more you explore.
✨ Which of these places would you visit first? Let me know below, and don’t forget to save this post for your next trip!

Not every trip is picture-perfect... and I think t Not every trip is picture-perfect... and I think that's worth sharing too.
Travel on social media often looks flawless, but sometimes things don't go to plan.
During our recent stay in Málaga, we paid £462 for six nights expecting a comfortable apartment in a great location. Instead we found clogged drains, a bathroom that constantly smelled, a mattress that didn't fit the bed, a broken kettle, dirty kitchen equipment, air conditioning that barely worked, no hot water on our first night, a lift that was out of service for several days, and a property that didn't match what was advertised.
None of these issues alone would have ruined our holiday, but together they had a huge impact on our stay. Even after reporting problems on the first day, very little changed.
I love sharing beautiful hotels, hidden gems and incredible destinations, but I also believe travel creators have a responsibility to share the reality when something isn't right. Honest reviews help all of us make better travel decisions.
Thankfully Málaga itself was absolutely wonderful, and I'll still be sharing plenty of recommendations because the city deserves it. ❤️
Have you ever checked into accommodation that looked nothing like the listing?
I'd genuinely love to hear your story in the comments.

If you’re looking for affordable food in Málaga, s If you’re looking for affordable food in Málaga, skip the tourist restaurants for a while and head to Mercado Central de Atarazanas instead.

I wanted to see if I could enjoy a proper lunch for under €10, and honestly, I was surprised by how much we got.

🥟 Cheese empanadilla – €2.50
🥪 Pulled pork sandwich – €6 (but it’s easily big enough to share, so only €3 each)
🍷 Sangria – €3.50
💰 Total: €9 per person

One of my favourite things to do when travelling is visit local food markets. They usually offer better value than restaurants in busy tourist areas, you get to support local businesses, and the atmosphere always feels more authentic.

If you’re planning a trip to Málaga, I’d definitely recommend adding Mercado Central de Atarazanas to your itinerary. Whether you’re after breakfast, lunch or just a quick snack, it’s a fantastic place to experience local flavours without stretching your budget.

📌 Save this for your Málaga trip.
💬 Have you visited this market, or do you know another food market that’s even better?

€9 lunch in Málaga? Yes, it’s possible! One of my €9 lunch in Málaga? Yes, it’s possible!

One of my favourite ways to experience a new city is by visiting the local food market, and Mercado Central de Atarazanas quickly became one of my favourite spots in Málaga.

Instead of heading to another tourist restaurant, I grabbed a few simple dishes that turned out to be one of my favourite lunches of the trip.

🥟 Cheese empanadilla – €2.50
🥪 Pulled pork sandwich – €6, but honestly it’s big enough for two people, making it just €3 each.
🍷 Sangria – €3.50

That makes a delicious lunch for just €9 per person.

I love food markets because you can try authentic local food, support independent traders and usually eat for much less than you’ll pay around the main tourist attractions. Mercado Central de Atarazanas is also a great place to wander around, watch the locals shopping and soak up the atmosphere before or after lunch.
If you’re planning a trip to Málaga and looking for affordable places to eat, I’d definitely add this to your itinerary. It proves you don’t need to spend a fortune to enjoy great food while travelling.

📍Save this for your Málaga trip.

I genuinely couldn’t believe this deal... If you’ I genuinely couldn’t believe this deal...

If you’ve been putting off visiting Chester Zoo because of the ticket price, this is your sign to go.
Right now, you can visit for just £10 per person with their afternoon ticket offer. Considering a standard ticket can cost several times more, it’s an incredible way to experience one of the UK’s best zoos without spending a fortune.

The offer lets you enter from 2pm, giving you a few hours to explore over 30,000 animals, beautiful gardens and some of the UK’s best wildlife exhibits. You definitely won’t see absolutely everything in one afternoon because the zoo is massive, so my biggest tip is to decide which animals you most want to visit before you arrive. That way you can make the most of your time instead of wandering around trying to fit everything in.
Even with just an afternoon, I still managed to see some incredible animals and honestly had such a lovely day. It’s perfect if you’re looking for an affordable family day out, a date idea, or simply want to spend a few hours surrounded by nature.

A few things to know before you book:
🐘 £10 afternoon tickets are valid from 2pm-5pm.
📅 The offer is available every day, including weekends.
📲 Tickets need to be booked online in advance.
⏰ The promotion currently runs until 10 July 2026.

For £10, I honestly don’t think you’ll find many UK attractions that offer this much value.

Would you rather have a full day at the zoo or save money with an afternoon visit? Let me know below! 👇

📌 Save this post so you don’t miss the offer and send it to someone who’d love a zoo day out!

Lisbon looks beautiful from the streets... but fro Lisbon looks beautiful from the streets... but from the water? It’s a completely different city. 🌊⛵

If you’re planning a trip to Lisbon, this is one experience I genuinely think is worth adding to your itinerary.

Seeing the colourful buildings of Alfama, the impressive 25 de Abril Bridge, the famous Belém Tower, and the Monument to the Discoveries from the River Tagus gives you a perspective you simply don’t get when exploring on foot.

Whether you choose a daytime cruise or a sunset boat tour, it’s one of the most relaxing ways to escape the busy city streets for a couple of hours. Most tours include drinks, friendly local guides, and plenty of opportunities to take amazing photos (your camera roll will definitely thank you 📸).

It’s also perfect if you’re celebrating something special, travelling as a couple, visiting with friends, or simply want to experience Lisbon differently.

If you’re thinking about booking this boat trip, I’ve made it even easier!

There are few places in Europe where food feels so There are few places in Europe where food feels so connected to the culture as it does in Málaga, Spain. 🇪🇸✨
One of the best things to do in Málaga is to spend an evening hopping between traditional tapas bars, ordering a couple of small plates, sharing them with friends, and soaking up the incredible atmosphere. From crispy croquetas and perfectly grilled prawns to jamón ibérico, patatas bravas, fresh seafood, and local cheeses, every stop offers something different.
What I love most about tapas isn’t just the food—it’s the experience. There’s no rush. You wander through the beautiful streets of Málaga’s old town, discover hidden gems, enjoy a glass of local wine or sangria, and let the city surprise you one plate at a time.
If you’re planning a trip to Andalusia, make sure Málaga is on your itinerary. The city is packed with amazing restaurants, authentic Spanish cuisine, vibrant squares, and some of the best tapas you’ll find anywhere in Spain. It’s the perfect destination for food lovers and anyone looking for an unforgettable European city break.

Burgers are also yummy 🌝👀
